A. Requirement Factors
|
| 1. |
Korean citizenship, current legal resident of Korea and living in Korea during the period from July 2008 to August, 2009.
Dual citizens, overseas Korean residents or "green card" holders are not eligible. Individuals already enrolled in a university in the U.S. seeking support to complete a degree program are not eligible. |

| 2. |
good health
(however, disabled applicants are encouraged to apply.) |
|
| 3. |
must not have been an employee of the Korean-American Educational Commission or a recipient of a U.S. government funded scholarship (Fulbright or other) during the past five years |
|
| 4. |
completion of military service or exemption (if male) |
|
| 5. |
adequate English language proficiency (either TOEFL or IELTS is acceptable.)
Applicants in the fields of Literature or Linguistics must have a TOEFL score of 250, IBT 100 (IELTS score of 7) or better, and in other fields, 230, IBT 88 (IELTS score of 6) or better. TOEFL or IELTS exams must be taken early enough to submit a test score report at the time of application. |

a superior academic record
The required minimum overall undergraduate grade point average is 3.0/4.0, 3.225/4.3 or 3.375/4.5. In addition, clear evidence of strong academic performance, especially in the junior and senior years as well as graduate school, if applicable, shall be submitted. |

sufficient academic preparation
At a minimum, all applicants must have graduated or be eligible to graduate from an accredited university by February 2008. Applicants who hold a graduate degree cannot apply for a grant to pursue the same level of graduate degree. Applications are accepted for projects in the arts, humanities, and social sciences,and life sciences. (See the section above entitled "Description" for specific requirements by category.) |

Mathematics I, Mathematics II, Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Probability, Physics, Theoretical and Computational Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Geological Science, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Atmospheric Science, Oceanography, Physical Geography |
