Application and Selection Procedures

Application forms are downloadable from the KAEC website www.fulbright.or.kr. KAEC will accept completed applications only during the period of September 16-19, 2008.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all the required documentation has been submitted or mailed to the KAEC office to arrive by the end of this application period.

Applicants recommended for further consideration after documentary screening by specialists will be contacted, either by phone or letter, to confirm the time and date of an oral interview (for lecturer/researcher, "sample lecture') which will be conducted in English. Oral interviews are tentatively scheduled for mid-October, 2008.

Based on the recommendations of the screening committees, and any other considerations it deems appropriate, the KAEC board will nominate candidates and obtain approval for their selection from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board in the United States.

Selection decisions of the Board will be announced in early December 2008. The award becomes effective when the candidate's affiliation at a university or other institution in the United States has been confirmed and the candidate is notified to that effect by KAEC.
